The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and Human Resources (HR)
departments have teamed up to begin a Wellness initiative at ABT. You
may ask why ABT has decided to have a Wellness initiative?
There is a special connection between employees’ health and benefit
to the company. Healthy employees mean fewer injuries at work because
they are more alert. Choosing to not smoke as well as a low-fat diet can
benefit employees by reducing the effects of aging.
9/80 – ABT has adopted a work arrangement similar to that of the
larger Oil and Gas organizations whereby employees are work an 80 hour
work week in 9 days and get the 10th day off. This arrangement can not
be overlooked as it affords employees to opportunity to have some time
outside of weekends to get personal errands done and hence they are
better able to focus on work the rest of the week.
